Martin Cuthbert, current Managing Director, founded LightPath IT in March 2006.

While heading the EMEA IT department of a large global management consultancy, Martin found that the level of service and support offered by third party suppliers was very disappointing, despite on-going investment and often forced loyalty. LightPath IT was setup on the premise that exceptional service and high quality support would ensure repeat business, as opposed to lengthy contracts.

Today, this premise still stands. It has allowed LightPath IT to firmly establish itself in a competitive market and is the reason our customer base has grown to over 80 individual clients and we support in excess of 2000 users.

In January 2007, Steven Rumble, now Technical Director of LightPath, joined Martin bringing with him over 20 years’ experience in the IT industry. Starting his career as the head of an IT helpdesk for a small multi-site organisation, Steve has been providing IT and Business consultancy for large global organisations for the last fifteen years of his career, for companies including Amstrad, Microsoft and a number of different government departments.

This combination of resources has resulted in LightPath IT achieving an exceptional track record; over 93% of our customers have come from other customer referrals. We have also managed to retain every single one of our customers.
